We've returned here many times. It's a true top of the line campground - although being located close to the west gate at Yellowstone National Park sure doesn't hurt any, either. Everything is clean and well laid out. The staff is very friendly and efficient. It's almost the perfect place except that they charge for wireless internet when most lesser places are now including it for free.

This is a heavily wooded campground next to a lake. It's a great location for lake related activities as long as it doesn't rain. The access roads are dirt and would turn to mud if it rained. This site is best suited for smaller RVs. It was a real headache trying to maneuver into our site because the access roads and low tree branches just aren't suited for a larger class A.

We've stayed here in the past and had good owners but the park is under new ownership as of April 2006. Fortunately the new owners are as great as the previous ones. There's lots of shade trees so getting a satellite dome to work is going to be tricky. Other than that, this is a great park with free wi-fi. Lots of room to maneuver and nice spacious sites. We'll be back.

This is a tough one to rate. If you have a smaller RV you can get some beautiful sites tucked right into the redwoods. The free wi-fi works, the staff is friendly, and everything else lines up just right. In that case you might rate this a 10. If you have a larger RV, like our 40' coach, there are sites in the grassy area in the middle. They're not bad sites but they don't have the appeal of the in-the-trees sites. In that case it's more like the typical KOA, and gets a rating of 7. The new owners are doing a lot to the place and it's really looking nice. It's the best I've found in the area and is a great location for touring the northern California redwoods.

KOAs vary between good and bad. This one is typical in that it's overpriced for what you get. The place was hard to get into and the beat up asphalt speed bumps and divits make it a rough driveway for a 40' class A. The sites are adequate but non-spectacular and they were pitched enough that I needed blocks under the front jacks to let the hydraulic levers reach. From the previous reviews it looks like they are trying to bring it up but they have a ways to go yet. Still, it's a decent location for seeing that area and we weren't around much anyway except to eat and sleep so it didn't bother us too much. I might look around and try someplace else next time though.

This park was a real surprise. We were just passing through for the night but were pleasantly surprised to find it one of the best we've seen. Plenty of room for big rigs, nice concrete pads and patios, free wi-fi, trees, shrubbery and greenery, and everything very well maintained and kept clean, friendly staff, this place has it all. An excellent bargain at $28 also.

A great location close to Crater Lake but also surrounded with other lesser known scenery. The owners were very friendly and the place is beautiful. We asked for a space more in the open for our satellite dome to work so we were more into a sunny area but most sites are tucked into the tall pine trees. Plenty of room to navigate big rigs and the free wi-fi worked very well. The only drawback is that the mosquitoes were all over the place. However, Diamond Lake is being drawn down by the Forest Service to kill off some kind of growth this summer. The stagnant, low water may have affected this more. Maybe the mosquitoes won't be so bad next time when the lake is allowed to refill. We'll find out, because we're definitely going back.

AS previously mentioned, this campground is a gravel parking lot and everything is gravel. If you have to stop for the night and Rock Springs is where you're at, it'll do but it's definitely not a destination place. We had one of the prime (and I use that term loosely) sites so we had a table and shelter roof next to the coach but it was so hot and dusty we wouldn't use it. I'll agree with the previous review regarding lack of privacy. We camped here in a 40' motorhome and had no problems maneuvering in the park. It's OK for an overnight pit stop with hookups.

This is a great overnight stop. We've stayed here a number of times in the past. It's handy because it's right next to the Cabelas store and the gravelled lot is big rig friendly. Granted, Sidney isn't exactly a destination place and the campground doesn't have shade trees, pool, or grassy areas but it is a comfortable place to hole up for the night (and eat elk sandwiches in Cabelas).
